Mediation Trainer?
QED Training, Manchester, have put in two training bids and are running an open one day course in November on "The new ACAS code and Mediation". Essentially the one day courses combine the new provisions of the Employment Act 2009 in resolving disciplinary and grievance issues with the actual principles and application of the mediation process. QED Training are very well resourced in terms of the legal components for the one day courses (50%) but would be very interested in hearing from any colleague who has designed and delivered mediation training. If you visit our website - qedworks.com - you will get a good flavour of our work. We can also send you a short guide to the new legal provisions. All we will need at this stage is some idea of your experience with mediation training, your thoughts on reconciling our 50% "legal input" with your 50% to make it a seamless one day course. We also need a course outline with indicative content and methods. Our methods include talk and chalk, group work, you the jury case studies, role plays, problem solving and sharing, signposting and group discussions. There is no guarantee of work with this relatively new 50-50 venture but getting a good pool together is a good start. We will give feedback to all colleagues." Deadline for responses:- 14th September 2009. The e mail address for responses is:- mail@qedworks.com
