Hi Rhys, interesting angle (and quite a shopping list of wants/needs..)
Have you had a look at adobe captivate. You can capture screen shots, voice overs and simulations. It exports to flash so you can put it on a website/cd etc
As you say, you can;t record the other sides input but at £300 its probably much cheaper than web conferencing apps
Hi Rhys and "jonathansenior" - if full on-line/ real time is not a requirement there are several ways of getting around the techno-gobble. I use a Simulation Generator (own software) to create scenario-based simulations, complex or simple as req'd. They are used as tools in seminars, running on PCs. Presently an Effective Teams/ Project Behaviour simulation runs in 4 languages in Europe - but it would take next to nothing to change the content, logic, scoring etc. Developing from scratch is as easy as you can think and write.
e-learning is just as simple to create!
I've worked with elearning at various stages of its evolution - back to the days of CBT! with mixed results.
Currently I'm developing programmes to be delivered via web conference, which has the advantage of accessiblity and reducing travel time and expense, while still having real time tutor input and interaction. I'm planning on combining this with workbooks for a distance learning package, or as follow up support for delegates who have attended workshops.
I would be interested in collaborating with anyone who can see a use for this alongside elearning...
